This is my first revolver, and first gun that I have purchased on my own. I had some handed down to me ].22 handgun, old Winchester shotgun[ but I recently developed a renewed interest in the field of firearms. Being a fan of the classics but still wanting something affordable, I chose the Ruger GP-100 6 barrel with the blued finish ]Dirty Harry chose blued so I figured I couldn''t go wrong[ and I could not be more impressed. Even though I am a beginner, I have a decent knowledge of revolvers, and this one just excels. I will have this my whole life and pass it on to my children and their children.
In short, buy this gun. The durability, craftsmanship, accuracy, and comfort are simply outstanding for beginners and gunslingers alike.

this revolver is a fine piece of Ruger manufacturing. I own a .357 made by smith and wesson, and it is blue steel also. I would like to have 6inch barrel though, which makes me very interested in this particular revolver.

I just bought the 6" barrel and outshoot all my buddies with their Kimbers, Glocks, & H&K's. The groupings are fantastic and it already has proven to be a deer killer. I would recommend this gun for anyone who likes the feel of a beast!!! It shoots like a dream.
